Christmas Countdown Instructions

1. Cut out the cream colored poem and nativity pieces. You can cut them close to the borders or leave a bubble border, whatever look you prefer.

2. Arrange the pieces how you want them and glue together. Be sure that the large hole is at the bottom center of the green paper and the two small holes are at the top corners.

3. Cut a piece of plastic wrap that is about two feet long. We found it was best to also cut it down the middle so that it is half as wide, but that is optional.

4. Line up the pieces of gum on the plastic wrap, leaving a tail of an inch or two at one end.

 5. Wrap the plastic wrap around the gum.

6. Tie a piece of ribbon between each piece of gum and at the end that does not have a tail.

Alternatively, if you do not want to bother with plastic wrap, you can tie the pieces of gum together as shown in the picture below.

7. Thread the plastic wrap tail through the large hole in the bottom of the green piece of paper.

8. Tie the last piece of ribbon around the tail to create a secure attachment of the gum to countdown card. (If you opt to not use plastic wrap, you can use this piece of ribbon to tie one end of the gum chain you created to the hole in the green paper.)

9. Bend the spiral twisted wire into a semi circular shape. Insert the ends of the wire into the small holes at the top of the green paper and pinch them to secure. Pliers may be useful for working the end of the wire to get it the way you want.
